After two months of management changeups at banks’ Latin American departments and LatAm financial institutions, BTG Pactual made the biggest move towards the end of October. The Brazilian bank hired Guillermo Ortiz as chairman of its operations in Mexico, a move that takes effect on January 1. The former central banker left his post as chairman of Mexican bank Banorte. In other investment banking moves, UBS hired Reginald de Villiers to lead structured finance for the Americas. De Villiers left his post at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, where he led Latin American structured finance, earlier in the year to take the job. De Villiers is joined by former coworker Juan Carlos Betancur
