Banco Agrícola has solidified its grip in El Salvador’s banking sector, enjoying a roughly one-third market share in the country’s retail and corporate banking space, according to Moody’s data. Operating in a banking environment that has stagnated in recent years, the Bancolombia-owned Agrícola managed to grow its total assets to $361.97 million at the end of June, a 9.3% uptick on June 2014’s total. The bank’s loan book declined by 2.1%, but still fared well against competitors.
