Chilean chemical and mining group Sociedad Química y Minera (SQM) said it signed an agreement with US carmaker Ford to supply battery-grade lithium for electric cars. Under the deal, SQM will provide lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide for the production for electric vehicle (EV) batteries, the group said in a statement.
