US financial services company Visa has raised the stakes and offered $1.4 billion to buy Brazilian financial technology firm Pismo, according to a report in local business newspaper Valor Econômico. The Brazilian fintech, which operates a cloud-based banking and payments platform, is said to have rejected an initial $1 billion offer from Visa, according to Valor. Visa, however, declined to comment.
