Swiss building materials company takes a controlling stake in Quitam

Swiss building materials company Holcim said it has acquired a 51% stake Argentine paint maker Quitam, a latest deal as it expands in Latin America. Quitam produces the Quimexur brand of paints and runs Pinturerías de Color, a chain of paint shops, the company said in a statement. Holcim plans to expand the new paint chain in tandem with Disensa, its own chain of building supplies shops in Argentina and elsewhere in Latin America.
