EDC's private sector division arranges $16.5 mln in financing for the Ecuadorian credit union to provide loans to women-owned micro businesses

FinDev Canada, the private sector division of export credit agency Export Development Canada (EDC), said it arranged $16.5 million in financing for Ecuadorian credit union Cooprogreso to offer loans to micro-sized enterprises owned by women. "One hundred percent of the funds will go to women with at least fifty percent specifically directed towards women working in the agriculture sector," FinDev said in a press release on Monday.
