Guatemala has secured $175 million in financing arranged by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to widen a 35km stretch of highway CA-9, according to a press release on Monday. The IDB said it will provide $75 million, while Spanish development agency AECID will supply $100 million through the Fonprode program as part of a co-financing agreement with the US-based development bank.
