Gasco takes over power generation JV

M&A Energy Electricity Gas Chile

Chilean natural gas distribution company Empresas Gasco said Thursday that it acquired the 50% it did not already own in Innovación Energía (Inersa) for $15.6 million, expanding its interest in the power generation business. Gasco bought the stake from Energía Latina (Enlasa), a Chilean electricity generation company with which it formed the joint venture in 2016. As part of the deal, Gasco also doubled its stake to 100% in the power plant Terminal Gas Caldera for $2 million, buying out Inersa.
