Guatemala went to the international bond market for the first time this year on Wednesday to issue $500 million in seven-year notes, according to its legal adviser.
The Central American nation priced the new 5.25% 2029 bonds to yield 5.45% with Santander as the "initial purchaser," Cleary Gottlieb said in a press release on Thursday.
Guatemala is expected to settle the Rule 144A/Reg S deal, its 12th issue in the international debt market, on August 10, the law firm added.
