Brazil's M&A market is showing signs of life after a recent slew of deals, but political uncertainty and rising interest rates could lead to a slump before the end of the year, analysts told LatinFinance.
US consulting firm Kroll counted 735 transactions in Brazil in the first half of the year, down 2.3% on the same period last year, but it expects the number of deals to shrink just 1% for all of 2022.
"We will maintain the same level of activity as we had last year," said Alexandre Pieranto
Kroll points to a resilient market, but other observers see to a sharp downturn before the end of the year
