Chilean retailer Cencosud signed two loans totaling $300 million to help finance its acquisition of a majority stake in US premium supermarket chain The Fresh Market, according to a securities filing.
Cencosud said it financed the deal with two one-year loans for $150 million each – one from Bank of America and the other from the Singaporean branch of HSBC – as well as its own cash resources.
The Santiago-based company agreed to buy 67% of The Fresh Market for $676 million in May and gain a toeh
