US Vice President Kamala Harris said Tuesday that 10 private companies will invest $1.9 billion in creating economic opportunities in northern Central America, helping to reduce an exodus of people from the region.
Of the investments, Luxembourg-based telecommunications company Millicom will invest $700 million to expand and maintain its mobile and broadband networks in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras over the next two years, the White House said in a press release.
