British private equity firm buys 10% of the Brazilian renewable energy company for $149 mln and agrees to invest up to another $162 mln

British private equity firm Actis has agreed to buy a 10% stake in Brazil's Omega Energia for BRL770 million ($146 million) and pledged to invest up to another BRL850 million in the renewable energy company. Tarpon Investimentos, a local asset management firm that owns 34.8% of Omega, granted Actis a call option to buy sharer for BRL13.50 each. Omega, in turn, may require Actis to buy more shares for BRL16.00 each between October 2022 and March 2023. Shares in Omega closed at BRL11.89 on Tuesday
