Brazil's state-owned oil company Petrobras said it has named Fernando Borges as interim CEO to replace José Mauro Coelho, who formally resigned on Monday after the company announced another fuel price increase.
Borges rises to the top job from his position as head of exploration and production at Petrobras, where he has worked for more than three decades. He was the director of the local oil and gas trade association IDP from 2016 to 2020 and remains a member of the board.
