Chilean agribusiness Empresas Iansa has borrowed $53 million from local lender Banco Bci and the local branch of Spanish bank Santander with pricing tied to environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets, according to securities filings.
As part of the financing, Iansa agreed to lower carbon dioxide emissions by 19%, improve water usage and increase recycling by 86% at its plants in Chile in Peru by 2025, Santander said in a press release last week.
