US-based agricultural and food company Bunge has entered a consortium to buy Vicentin, the largest soybean exporter in Argentina, the latter said in a statement late on Thursday.
Bunge, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, will join the local agricultural cooperative Asociación de Cooperativas Argentinas (ACA) and Dutch agribusiness Viterra, which is controlled by Switzerland-based commodity trader Glencore, in preparing an offer to buy the company, Vicentin said in a statement.
