Brazilian airline Gol said Monday that it named Celso Ferrer to replace Paulo Kakinoff as CEO on July 1, following the announcement last week that it had joined Colombia's Avianca in a single holding company called Abra Group.
Ferrer, who joined Gol as a trainee in 2003, became chief planning officer in 2014 and then COO in 2019. He is also a Boeing 737 pilot, according to Gol.
Kakinoff has been CEO since 2012. He will take a seat on Gol's board of directors, the airline said.
