Mexico's central bank, known as Banxico, plans to offer a digital currency in 2025 as part of its plans to expand financial services in the country, said the bank's governor, Victoria Rodríguez.
The digital currency will "expand the options to make quick payments, safe, efficient and interoperable in the economy," Rodríguez said before the Senate's finance committee on Thursday.
