Chilean President Gabriel Boric said Wednesday that he has named Máximo Pacheco as chairman of state-owned miner Codelco as the company takes steps to boost copper production.
An economist and engineer, Pacheco comes to the post from being executive vice president of operations at Codelco. He also brings political experience as Chile's minister of energy from 2016 to 2019.
