Spanish-Colombian consortium wins tunnel lighting contract

A consortium of Spanish and Colombian engineering companies won a $109 million contract to provide mechanical equipment for the Túnel Guillermo Gaviria Echeverri — the longest road tunnel in Latin America — in the Andes mountains, according to local press reports. Spain's Comsa Industrial together with Colombian firms Disico and G&C will install equipment such as ventilation, lighting and fire-prevention systems in the 9.4km tunnel and access roads, local business daily La República reported
