CABEI issues first education bonds in private placement

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) said it raised $50 million in its first sale of education bonds through a private placement with Japan's Dai-chi Frontier Life Insurance Company. CABEI priced the new 10-year social bonds at a fixed rate of 4.88%, according to Humberto Rodríguez, head of debt capital markets and external funding at the development bank.
