Mexico's state-owned electric utility company CFE said it signed an agreement with France's Engie to extend the Mayakan natural gas pipeline in the Yucatán Peninsula. Mayakan can supply gas to six plants, but CFE said it needs to expand the pipeline to make deliveries to two new plants – Mérida IV and Valladolid IV – and to meet rising demand in the region.
