Credit Suisse backs power plant deal in Mexico

Credit Suisse has supplied financing for Saavi Energía to acquire the Tierra Mojada power plant in Mexico, according to its legal adviser. Saavi, a Mexico City-based power generation company owned by US infrastructure investment firm Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), announced last week that it had agreed to buy the 874 MW natural gas-fired plant in the state of Jalisco from Fisterra Energy, a division of US investment manager Blackstone.  Saavi and Credit Suisse singed a letter of credit on
