The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector division of the World Bank, is reviewing two loan requests for up to $400 million from two banks -- Banistmo and Banco Industrial -- to on-lend to small and medium enterprises.
Panamanian lender Banistmo has requested up to $300 million in financing, which includes up to $200 million from IFC itself and as much as $100 million from third-party lenders, according to information on the IFC’s website.
