The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said Tuesday that it agreed to lend roughly $710 million to Costa Rica through the Resilience and Sustainability Trust (RST), a new program for countries to counter the economic risks of global warming. The IMF also granted an additional $264 million to its three-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) to “strengthen Costa Rica’s economic reform program,” it said in a press release.
