Latin America and the Caribbean is facing a period of slower economic growth and more expensive and harder-to-access financing, as global financial conditions tighten to curb inflation, Ilan Goldfajn, director of the Western Hemisphere Department at the International Monetary Fund, said on Thursday.
“Financing is becoming scarcer and costlier as major central banks raise interest rates to tame inflation,” he said in a press conference at the annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group. “
