Chile's President-elect Gabriel Boric has named central bank head Mario Marcel as the next finance minister in what is seen as an attempt to assure investors that the incoming administration will maintain fiscal stability. Marcel has been governor of Chile's central bank since December 2016 and a board member since October 2015.
