Banco Bci, the third-largest lender in Chile, said Tuesday that it expects to open a division in Peru in the first quarter of next year as part of an ongoing effort to enter new markets.
The Santiago-based bank has received authorization from Chile's central bank and expects to get an operating license from Peruvian banking regulator SBS in the second half of the year in the final steps before opening the new branch, it said in a securities filing.
