Chilean chemical company Sociedad Química y Minera (SQM) said Monday that it sold $700 million worth of 30-year green bonds to fund the production of lithium for use in clean transportation and energy efficiency projects. The new 2051 notes carried a coupon of 3.5% and priced at 99.174 to yield 3.545%, or 165 basis points over US Treasury bonds, after getting close to $3 billion in orders, a source involved in the deal told LatinFinance.
