French cable manufacturer Nexans said it agreed to spend $225 million to buy Colombia cable maker Cables de Energía y Telecomunicaciones (Centelsa) from Mexican food and energy conglomerate Xignux.
"Nexans expects to fund the acquisition with a mix of available cash and debt," the French company said in a press release on Friday.
Nexans added that it expects to close the acquisition in the first half of next year, pending regulatory approval.
