Brazil's former central bank head to join IMF

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said it has named Ilan Goldfajn as director of the Western Hemisphere department, starting January 3 next year. Goldfajn will take over the department from Alejandro Werner. He will join the IMF from Credit Suisse, where he has been chairman of the Brazilian unit. Goldfajn was head of Brazil's central bank from from May 2016 to February 2019, where he oversaw regulatory changes that opened the financial services industry to financial technology firms, the IM
