Chilean private pension fund manager AFP Habitat said it plans to spin off its operations in Peru and Colombia from its business in its home market as part of a strategy to expand in region and diversify regulatory risk.
AFP Habitat's controlling shareholders, Inversiones La Construcción (ILC) and Prudential Financial, have agreed to the split and are expected to pass the measure on September 23, the pension fund manager said in a securities filing on Tuesday. ILC and Prudential each own 40.3%
