Brazilian rice and beans producer Camil Alimentos said it has reached a deal to buy Pastificio Santa Amália for BRL410 million ($80 million) from Peru-based Alicorp, diversifying into the pasta business in a latest move to expand through acquisitions.
Camil said it will dip into its cash reserves to pay BRL260 million to Alicorp, which bought the pasta maker in 2014, and take on BRL150 million in debt from Santa Amália, according to a securities filing.
