Market questions AMLO's plans for new LP gas company

A proposal by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for state-owned oil company Pemex to form a company to sell liquefied petroleum (LP) gas to consumers could generate more costs than benefits, an analyst told LatinFinance on Thursday. Pemex would have to make large investments in cylinders, distribution networks and logistics to meet demand and it would even have to subsidize gas prices at some point, said Susana Ivana Cazorla Espinosa, founding partner at the local consulting form SIC
