Central Puerto said that a syndicate of three banks has agreed to extend the final maturity of a $36 million loan that the Argentine power generation company failed to pay on time this week, as capital controls made it impossible to buy enough dollars to do so.
The company said it paid 40% of what was due after missing the full payment, the maximum allowed by a nearly year-old order from the central bank, according to a securities filing late Wednesday.
