Argentina drums up US support in IMF talks

Argentina has gained support from the US government in negotiations for a new loan program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), for which the sovereign wants a longer term and lower interest rate, Sergio Massa, head of the Chamber of Deputies, said on Thursday. The US State Department, the White House and the US Congress have expressed their "commitment to help so that Argentina resolves well and rapidly the debt issue," Massa said in chat with the Americas Society/Council of the Americas
