US investment firm KKR has agreed to buy a non-controlling stake in Mexico's IEnova as part of a larger deal with the natural gas pipeline operator's parent company, San Diego-based Sempra Energy.
KKR will pay $3.37 billion for 20% of Sempra Infrastructure Partners, a recent spin-off that includes natural gas companies on the Pacific and Gulf coasts in North America and 4 GW of renewable energy projects, according to a press release from Sempra.
