Argentina to borrow for satellite program

Argentina has approved plans to borrow up to $244 million from the Latin American development bank CAF to help finance a telecommunications satellite project, according to a presidential decree on Wednesday. The funds from the 15-year loan will go toward building and launching a second-generation geostationary telecommunications satellite, called the ARSAT-SG1, to provide digital connectivity in distant parts of the country, the government said.
