Mexican mass media company Televisa and its US counterpart Univision have funded part of a planned $4.8 billion merger with a $1 billion equity investment led by Japanese conglomerate SoftBank and $2.1 billion in loans from JPMorgan, according to a press release on Tuesday.
SoftBank arranged the investment with Google, the Raine Group and ForgeLight, which acquired 64% of Univision with Searchlight Capital in 2020, Televisa and Univision said in a joint statement.
