The Brazilian government has nominated Rodrigo Limp as the new CEO of Eletrobras, disregarding the advice of a management consulting firm hired by the state-owned power company, according to a securities filing on Thursday.
Limp, who is secretary of electricity at the Minister of Mines and Energy, takes over from interim CEO Elvira Presta. Former CEO Wilson Ferreira stepped down in January to take up a new position at fuel distribution company BR Distribuidora.
