The Barranquilla city government said Monday that it signed a $250 million loan with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to fund urban renewal plans in the city center and other projects.
The 25-year loan, the first to come with backing from the national government since the turn of the century, includes a €5 million ($5.95 million) contribution from Spain's international cooperation agency AECID, the city government said in a press release.
