US energy company AES Corp said it has launched an offer to acquire the 33% of the shares it does not already own in AES Andes, a subsidiary in Chile that also has operations in Argentina and Colombia, for a total of CLP463 billion ($551 million). The company is offering to pay CLP135.14 per share for the 3.4 billion shares traded on the Santiago stock exchange in a tender that it expects to compete in early January, according to a securities filing late Monday.  AES, which owns 67% of AES Andes
