Brazilian Communications Minister Fábio Faria hailed the success of an auction for the fifth generation (5G) mobile network in Brazil, saying it set up BRL46.8 billion ($8.48 billion) in investments against a background of increased competition in the telecommunication sector.
"We did it," Faria said at the end of the two-day auction on Friday, concluding another step to install 5G in Brazil.
