Sabesp sets up local debt deal

São Paulo state water utility Sabesp has received board approval to issue at least BRL1.25 billion ($222 million) in new debentures in a two- or three-part deal in the local market, it said in a securities filing. The company is looking to sell BRL500 million worth of 2026 notes and BRL750 million of 2031 notes, but it could increase the size of the deal by 20% and sell an additional BRL150 million in 2036 notes, according to the filing on Thursday.
