US special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Qell Acquisition Corp has opened a branch in Latin America and named Carlos Zarlenga to lead the business from its office in São Paulo, according to press reports on Thursday.
Zarlenga, who resigned as CEO of General Motors in South America in August, will work with Francisco Valim, former CEO of Oi, Nextel and Via, and look to buy automotive supply companies worth between $500 million and $3 billion, Reuters reported.
