Metropolitana picks up private funds for power projects

Chilean power generation company Generadora Metropolitana said it has raised $980 million through a private bond placement and a syndicated loan to refinance debts and invest in projects including the construction of the largest solar power plant in the country. The company, a joint venture of Chile's AME and France's EDF, said six banks participated in the syndicated loan and that the bond was sold as a private placement in the United States, according to a press release.
