El Salvador signs new loan from IDB

El Salvador has signed a $400 million contingent loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to help face natural disasters and health emergencies, the multilateral lender said in a press release on Thursday. "The project will allow the country to build greater financial resilience against earthquakes, tropical cyclones, volcanic eruptions and future epidemic and pandemic outbreaks," the IDB said.  The loan includes $300 million in fast-access funds for earthquakes and tropical cyclones
