Guillermo Nielsen said Wednesday that he has submitted his resignation as chairman of YPF after a year in the post, the latest shakeup as Argentina's state-backed energy company tries to come up with the cash to increase oil and natural gas production.
In a series of tweets, Nielsen, a former finance minister for the country, made public his decision after speculation rose of his departure on Tuesday.
YPF declined the comment on the rumors ahead of the tweets or to say who could replace Nielsen,
