BNDES approves Gás Natural Açu loan

Brazil national development bank BNDES said on Thursday it approved a BRL3.93 billion ($756 million) loan for Gás Natural Açu (GNA) to finance a second gas-fired thermoelectric plant. GNA, a joint venture between Prumo Logística, BP and Siemens, will use the funds to construct the 1.67MW power plant at Porto do Açu in Rio de Janeiro, according to a statement from BNDES.
