Argentine electricity and natural gas trader SAESA has acquired the Brazilian power plant Central Térmica Uruguaiana (CTU) from a unit of US-based AES, as it bets on growing energy trade between the countries. The Buenos Aires-based company reached a deal to buy the 640 MW plant in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul on Thursday night with AES Tietê Energia, both companies confirmed on Friday.
